About Story Money Impact
Story Money Impact (SMI) is a Canadian registered charity that helps documentary films make a real-world difference. We connect filmmakers, changemakers, and audiences through campaigns that inspire action, deepen understanding, and build community.
We deliver multiple programs funded by a mix of government agencies (civic, provincial and federal), foundations, sponsors, and donors. Program timelines overlap throughout the year requiring funding applications and reporting on an ongoing basis.
We’re looking for an experienced, detail-oriented person to join our small but mighty team as our Operations and Finance Manager.
Position Summary
The Operations & Finance Manager oversees the financial, administrative, and operational systems of Story Money Impact, ensuring the organization runs efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
This role supports the Executive Director in translating vision into execution, managing business affairs, and sustaining a culture of collaboration, care, and excellence. It’s an ideal position for an impact-driven, detail-oriented professional with experience in non-profit or charity management — and appreciation for familiarity with business affairs in the media or cultural sector.
Additionally, we are a very small team, so tasks and roles can shift around depending on workloads. This type of flexibility requires an adaptive approach rather than fixed job definitions. Together, we get the job done, and we try and look after each other as we do so.
