Screen The Magnitude of All Things for free.

Eco-anxiety, climate grief, or solastalgia - all of these terms have arisen in the past decade describing the psychic pain we experience when thinking about the magnitude of the climate crisis and its implications for our present and future world.

The National Film Board is making this powerful film completely free to watch. Story Money Impact is supporting organizations to host post-screening discussions with this Virtual Screening Kit. You can organize a personal viewing, a staff screening, or a public facing event.

On this page, you will find:

  • A link to the film, and contact info to host your own screening

  • Coordination one-pager to make opting in as easy as possible

  • Facilitator’s guide to help you navigate your own climate grief circle

DO-IT-YOURSELF COORDINATION CHEAT SHEET

Coordinating an event can seem like a huge task, but our team has distilled all the major choices into this handy one-sheet, along with our pointers and suggestions. Will your event be in-person or virtual? Private or public? Will there be a discussion? Let us walk you through it!

The Good Grief Network has created a unique step program that helps participants metabolize feelings like grief, anxiety, despair, and anger in the face of large systemic issues. This program has been proven to help folks re-discover their personal agency and reinvest their energies into meaningful action.  They have distilled their foundational knowledge into this accessible document for you to use to guide your own climate grief circle - this could be a great resource to do any of the following.

  • A self-guided time of reflection

  • A reference document for a group of friends to share their feelings

    • A guide for the moderator of an organization-wide meeting for Earth Day

They have also included a one-page Redefining Meaningful Action document to help guide you to the next step of your journey.

These lesson plans are developed by Story Money Impact’s contacts at the BC Teachers’ Federation with the intention of teaching students of any grade about the climate crisis, activism, and how young people can engage in activism. With 7 class activities and a glossary of terms, this lesson plan can easily be slotted into any English, Civics, History, or Science class.
